What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is a highly specialist lawyer who deals with documents for use in other jurisdictions.

If you are entering transactions or dealing with legal matters abroad you may need a Notary Public to authenticate your identity, statements or paperwork or prepare legal documentation. Typically a solicitor's certification will not be enough.

• Preparations for an overseas marriage

• Applying for duplicate documents

• Authenticating translations

• Getting permission for a child to travel with one parent

Apostilles and legalisation

• Registration of trade marks

• Commercial contracts and documents

• Any other document for use abroad
