AHPRA and OVERSEAS MEDICAL REGISTRATION
Documents for AHPRA and Australian medical registration
Notarised documentation for overseas medical registration is a common request. Amongst our clients, Australia is a popular destination so we have created this guide to assist with the process.
Different roles require different documentation, usually a mixture of education and ID documents.
Check with AHPRA or the eventual recipients of the documents if you are unsure as to what you require.
Before you start to notarisation process:-
- Check your names match exactly across all your documentation (eg check for missing middle names, old surnames etc). If there is a discrepancy then you might need to complete a statutory declaration form.
- Do you need to send transcripts / references / training records? If you are required to send transcripts you may not need these notarised. AHPRA have been known to accept some documents (not certificates or ID) without notarisation if sent directly to to AHPRA from the issuing institution.
- We need to see the original documents, not copies or scans. Certificates should be removed from their frames.
- Physical references should be original and signed in pen.
- If an original does not look like an obvious original then I will not treat it as an original. Features such as watermarks / wet ink signatures would be suggestive of an original document.
- Documents you have received electronically will need to be viewed at the appointment in the portal or on the original email that was sent from the author (not a subsequently forwarded email).
- If a document that has been scanned is not an electronic original but a scan of a physical original.
- AHPRA deal with most documents electronically so a single sheet printed double sided would be treated as 2 pages.
- If some of your documentation did not originate within the UK then please let us know so that we can check if we can certify those documents.
- If you are supplying a UK birth certificate please be aware that due to copyright we are unable to photocopy these so will notarise the actual document you bring. The notarisation process will involve writing and stamping your document. If you only have the original certificate presented to your parents shortly after your birth you should be aware that your original certificate would irreplaceable . We recommend that you order an registrar certified birth certificate from the government website as you can get as many new copies as you wish.
Price estimate
Most documents will require unverified true copies and a price guide can be found here.
If you require any statutory declarations then an additional charge would apply. If the declaration is ready for signature it would usually add £30. If it needs to be drafted then it would add £75
Appointments
Where your requirements are limited to true copies of physical documents you may elect for a standard appointment or a doorstep drop. If you have statutory declarations or electronic documents then you would need a standard appointment.
Please have a look at my terms and conditions and if you wish to make an appointment then please get in touch. It is helpful to have an idea of your requirements when you make the appointment so that we can ensure that sufficient time is allocated.
Pricing information provided on this page should be treated as an estimate. If you require a formal quote then please contact us.
